Best Place to Survive during a Zombie Apocalypse
It’s not just hypothetical anymore….researchers have conducted a real study to analyze where the safest place to go would be in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
Now, for those of you who don’t know, a zombie apocalypse is what it is called if zombies were to infest and take over the world. This type of infestation is portrayed over and over in zombie movies. The most common plot you’ll see in zombie movies involve most of the world having been turned into zombies, while a few remaining humans (who are either resistant to the virus or have managed to stay well hidden) fight for their lives. The question that scientists have posed is…is this a realistic depiction of what might happen? Or are there in fact places where humans would be safe (or relatively safe) during the end of the world by zombie?
The answer that has emerged is rather unsurprising! Models show that during a zombie apocalypse big urban cities will be the first to go. With the dense population, the zombie infestation will spread quickly as human after human gets bitten and taken down by their zombie neighbors, coworkers, and friends. The close proximity of humans to one another is what causes this – zombies will would be so close to you it would be incredibly difficult to avoid contact with them.
With this in mind, it comes as no surprise then that the safest place to survive the zombie apocalypse would be in a very remote area that is sparsely populated – and in particular that is as far away as possible from a busy urban city. In the United States, simulations indicate that area would be remote regions of the Rocky Mountains. Other safe areas include the remote region of northern Vermont, far north New Hampshire, and central Nevada. The basic tip you want to follow: stay away from cities and big populations of people!
