If you need something to do while you’re waiting for the turkey, turn on the National Dog Show! It comes on right after the Thanksgiving Day parade. You’ll find the dog show from 12pm - 2pm CST on your local station. John O’Hurley (from Seinfeld!) will be hosting it this year. The dog show has over 2000 dogs from 150 different breeds competing. Tune in to see which dog will be named best in show! It’s an annual event now, so add it to your Thanksgiving Day!

I’m tuning out now to finish watching the parade, then tune in to see the fantastic dogs. So Happy Thanksgiving!

This was actually in the news this morning, but it really does fall into horror doesn’t it?  Scientists have actually found an EIGHT FOOT LONG fossil of a BUG!!  Actually, they found a fossilized claw of what they believe to be a huge gigantic ancient sea scorpion, which they believe to be the ancestors to modern-day scorpions and possibly spiders, mites and ticks.  Also, scientists have for a long time known there were gigantic cockroaches, dragonflies, and millipedes wandering around.  Remember all those black and white horror movies where the huge bug was attacking people? Not just humans get in the Guinness Book of World Records! Here are some interesting dog records:

• Tallest Living Dog - Gibson from Grass Valley California, and he is 42.2 inches tall. He’s a Harlequin Great Dane.
• Fastest Car Window Opened by a Dog - (why is this even a dog category? this is strange.) Striker from Quebec City, Canada can open a non-electric car window in 11.34 seconds.
• Longest Time on Doggy Death Row - (another strange category for dogs!) Word (yes, that was his name), was “incarcerated” at the Seattle Animal Control Shelter for 8 years.
• Most tennis balls held in the mouth by a dog - Augie from Dallas, TX can hold 5 tennis balls in his mouth.

At least the tennis ball record makes sense for a dog. The others are kind of weird, aren’t they?

Are you looking for a werewolf tattoo?  I’ve found several sites on the internet that have good werewolf drawings from which to base your tattoo. This tattoo website has some good pictures of wolves and werewolves. Many of the pictures depict wolves howling with a full moon behind them, some have just the wolf eyes, while only a few of them actually show a full body werewolf. Here’s another site that has horror tattoos - all of these pics are tattoos taht have already been drawn on someone’s arm, so it shows the finished product. Some of them - like the pinhead tattoo, the Jason tattoo, and the monster eyeball are very detailed. Good luck finding your werewolf tattoo!

So there’s this new (horror? or thriller?) movie coming out called Cloverfield, and to great hype, the new trailer for the Cloverfield movie is being released today!  It’s also known as 1-18-08.  It’s pretty top secret, and even the website 1-18-08 is vague, with just some movie stills that are date stamped and posted for puzzle-solvers to solve the meaning. It is an action/sci-fi movie.  The first trailer aired right before the movie Transformers and was from a handheld point of view, and got alot of buzz just for that reason, it was so vague - with no title of the movie even showing on the screen.  It did however say January 18, 2008 (hence why everyone started referring to is as 1-18-08).  Looks like the real name of the movie though is Cloverfield.  It is produced by JJ Abrams (of Lost fame).   Some theorize that Cloverfield is a godzilla movie, but noone really knows for sure.  What is known is very brief - it’s about a monster attack in New York.  The website does not have the Cloverfield trailer.  A new Cloverfield trailer is going to be debuting today, November 16 right before the new Beowulf movie. There’s alot of hype about this trailer / teaser as it will apparently decisively tell the official title of the movie (which is expected to be, to no surpise, Cloverfield).  I’ll let you know once I’ve seen the new trailer!
