werewolves are alpha males!

Buddy,

I just read your article on werewolves traveling in packs if they find other werewolves, and if werewolves become actual wolves or human-wolf type thing upon transformation.  Personally I believe that they are hybrid wolf human devils! They do not completely tranform into an actual wolf like the Blood and Chocolate movie did (for example). They are not human and not completely animal, they are evil hybrids!

I also want to say that werewolves are alpha males. So, a werewolf wolf “making buddies” with another werewolf  would be crazy since they would end up eating each other or killing themselves in the process. So they cannot travel in packs -Werewolves are loners!

Are werewolves real? YES.

YES. I am now convinced that werewolves exist or existed in some form.

Here’s my proof:

In almost every ancient culture I look up, I find some reference to some kind of a dog-headed being or “werewolf”. For example, in Greek mythology you have the story of Lycaon (an evil spirit?) who transforms into a wolf. In Latvian mythology you have the Vilkacis - an evil being similar to a werewolf. The Native American legends have a “werecoyote”. You have the German fairy tales Märchen, were people transform. The Serbs and Slovenes believed that certain birthmarks were the indicator of people able to transform (most commonly into wolves). In Russia, even a prince - Prince Vseslav of Polotsk was supposed to be a werewolf who prowled the night.

And seriously, the list goes on and on through every culture that you can think of, there is some kind of reference to a werewolf. What I’ve found, is that when there is something like that, that keeps showing up in culture after culture, there is some truth to it. It originated somewhere. Now, I’m not saying that they necessarily exist today - I don’t know, though I imagine they very well might. But I’m saying that they for sure must have existed at some point. How could every culture have made this up by themselves????

Are werewolves loners or come in packs and colonies?

I have another question about werewolf transformations that I’m not completly understanding.  When a werewolf transforms, do they completely transform into a wolf, or do they transform into a human-wolf hybrid (in other words, do they stand upright and still look like a human, or do they actually transform completely into wolves?)  I myself like to think that werewolves are human-wolf hybrids…but maybe they do transform completely into wolves.   And if werewolves transform completely into wolves, do they run with wolf packs? Do wolves accept them as one of their own?

Here’s what I think - werewolves tranform into a wolf-human hybrid. They are not accepted by real wolves. And they are not accepted by humans either.  But I do think that if a werewolf finds another werewolf they can form packs or colonies.  So yes, maybe werewolf are loners UNTIL they find other werewolves, then they become social.

werewolves howl at the moon because….

Werewolf 967,

Hmmm… I think there are only 2 possibilities on HOW a werewolf transforms, they are:

1.  Involuntarily by the full moon

2.  Voluntarily by meditation

I personally agree with Dnilan who says that the werewolf transformation happens through meditation.  As I mentioned before, maybe when a person first becomes a werewolf it is involuntarily transformed by the moon, but over time they learn to “Control the Beast” as you say!

As far as why werewolves howl at the moon, here are the possibilities:

1. werewolves howl at the moon because they’re trying to locate other werewolves (this is similar to the reason wolves howl at the moon).

2.  werewolves howl at the moon because whenever they see the moon they get mad and remember how painful it was to become a werewolf, so they howl in frustration and anger

3.  werewolves are NOT actually howling at the moon….they just howl in general, and since it is almost always a full moon when they are werewolves, we ASSUME they are howling at the full moon..but really they are just howling to howl.

Those are all the reasons I can think of as to why a werewolf  would howl at the moon.  I personally believe #2. Why? because after they howl, what happens? no, no other werewolves appear. what happens is they go on an attack of some kind…and I think they attack out of anger and frustration. What do you think?
