i love werewolves

On December 4, 2007 a new werewolf movie was released on DVD called Werewolf the Devil’s Hound….a new movie about werewolves!! Finally!!
That is the good news….the bad news is that Werewolf, The Devil’s Hound - according to some reviewers - is just not that good a movie.  Reviewers site bad acting, bad camera work, and bad effects…now, I haven’t seen the movie myself so cannot comment directly, and there are also a couple of good reviews, so don’t let me sway you either way! My advise would be to visit Amazon and read some reviews for yourself….or visit Werewolf” The Devil’s Hound official movie site for a better idea of what the movie is about. Obviously is not a Steven Speilberg movie, so keep an open mind when your making your decision!

OK, it wasn’t just the German Shepherd in the movie, I guess Will Smith does a pretty good job too…. but the German Shepherd (called Sam - or Samantha - in the movie, is great!!) you really start to bond with the dog and fear for her life - as much - if not more! than Will Smith’s life! There aren’t many movies (besides comedies where the dog plays the starring comedic role) where dogs play big parts, but in the new movie I am Legend, the German Shepherd plays a huge role, and does a great job. There are some great scenes with Sam as a puppy - if those don’t make you want to get a German Shepherd…then the scenes where she plays the loyal companion willing to give her life for her owner will….ooh…wait, that’s not a role, that’s the way these dogs really are!

Anyway, if you’re thinking about seeing this new movie with Will Smith, the movie is very good! You have to go see it! I had a couple of problems with the movie’s ending, but other than that it was great! I cant really go on, or I’ll give away spoilers. The BEST MOVIE, I’ve seen this year, was by far and away, hands down, the movie Stardust.  The movie is about a fallen star that crashes into a magical kingdom.  A young man goes out to find the fallen star (meteorite) for his would-be love.  The movie has everything evil vs. good! Comedy, romance, adventure, action!  Also, there are some really good actors including Claire Danes, Sienna Miller, Rupert Everett, Peter O’Toole, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Robert DeNiro. Anyway, the reason that I bring this movie up is because if you haven’t yet seen it, now’s your chance! The movie will be released on DVD on December 18, 2007, and on the Stardust Official Movie Site you’ll find a $5 coupon for Stardust that you can print to use on your DVD purchase. Here’s a direct link to the Stardust US DVD coupon. It’s valid until January 15, 2008, so don’t wait! Really, you won’t regret it, great movie!

So there’s this new (horror? or thriller?) movie coming out called Cloverfield, and to great hype, the new trailer for the Cloverfield movie is being released today!  It’s also known as 1-18-08.  It’s pretty top secret, and even the website 1-18-08 is vague, with just some movie stills that are date stamped and posted for puzzle-solvers to solve the meaning. It is an action/sci-fi movie.  The first trailer aired right before the movie Transformers and was from a handheld point of view, and got alot of buzz just for that reason, it was so vague - with no title of the movie even showing on the screen.  It did however say January 18, 2008 (hence why everyone started referring to is as 1-18-08).  Looks like the real name of the movie though is Cloverfield.  It is produced by JJ Abrams (of Lost fame).   Some theorize that Cloverfield is a godzilla movie, but noone really knows for sure.  What is known is very brief - it’s about a monster attack in New York.  The website does not have the Cloverfield trailer.  A new Cloverfield trailer is going to be debuting today, November 16 right before the new Beowulf movie. There’s alot of hype about this trailer / teaser as it will apparently decisively tell the official title of the movie (which is expected to be, to no surpise, Cloverfield).  I’ll let you know once I’ve seen the new trailer!
