OK, back on the countdown of the favorite dogs in America as noted by the AKC (see my post on Favorite Dog Breed), the #2 favorite breed in America is the Golden Retriever dog. Golden Retrievers are friendly, trustworthy, active dogs with a golden, usually water-repellant coat. Males weigh anywhere from 65 - 75 pounds. To find out more about these beautiful dogs (the Golden Retriever puppies are especially cute!), visit the American Kennel Club by clicking on the picture. If you’re looking for one of your own, you can get a puppy, or consider a Golden Retriever Rescue organization, like GRREAT, which rescues and places Golden Retrievers in Maryland, or NORCAL, which rescues Golden Retrievers in Northern California. No matter what city you live in, you’re bound to find a breed-specific rescue organization. Good luck!
