First of all there is absolutely no proof to be had that animals have souls, as we all know humans are “one of a kind”, to say that a rat has a “soul” is something similar to saying that the devil or the werewolf has one too. Dare we return to the “fact or fiction” type of discussion?

You ask me, “do you think a werewolf is a monster or an animal”? But you just read me the possible answer to the werewolf quiz question too!
One of your definitions says that an animal is anything other than human. We can all agree on this fact! A werewolf, when transformed, is not human. The monster definition seems to be a varitation of the animal definition, by your given definition a monster could also be an animal. So, the two definitions would put the werewolf into a sub-category of either animal or monster.
So Buddy, you still believe that a werewolf has a soul? Partly because you believe animals have souls?! We are assuming that we as humans have a soul and are setting aside the possibility of this “soul” only being created by our brain or thoughts. So, assuming again, that we have souls, Mr. Werewolf must be one special animal, monster, and or devils associate to be able to go through life and be unaware is it’s actions, feeding endlessly, and or killing upon any instinct possible.

I would even say being killed by a werewolf could be considered little different than being eaten by a tiger or other carnivore.
It would depend primarily on intent.
A tiger eating a person is a terrible tragedy but not evil. The tiger is doing what he was put on earth to do. What if the werewolf’s motive was as simple as that? It would be arrogant to deem the instinct of an animal to hunt to be evil just because the prey turned out to be human.
Humanity has done far worse than any beast yet many deem our human nature to be superior. Instead I would say it was human nature combined with the power of an animal that would turn a werewolf to evil.
People are capable of great good and great evil.
So what if werewolves were the same?
That would mean like every other form of life, it is the individual and their actions which would make something good or evil not a simplified form of categorization. As for the soul, I would say they would have one and that it would not really make a difference either way, especially if you are killed by one, as it is your soul you will have to worry about then.
Of course since werewolves do not really exist except as perhaps a mindset and as a form of mental illness, the whole discussion is little more than a fun hypothetical exercise.

Okay, whoever says that werewolves have no souls, not trying 2 sound like an idiot here, but that is very racist. Just because werewolves are different than humans, the *people* have the right to call them evil or soulless. I think that this makes humans monsters! Don’t get me wrong, I like *some* humans, but mostly, they are a clueless, idiotic, cruel species. I know that I was a human, at one point, and I dispise what I used to be. I looked down upon animals, and didnt believe in werewolves! well, you see where *that* got me.

Let’s say that werewolves have souls. If that happens then werewolves can easily overcome their evilness. If they don’t have souls, then they are evil, vicous animals. So most people say that werewolves have souls, because everybody do. Some people say that they don’t have souls, because their vicous animals. There is no truth and no right or wrong.
Werewolves are people! They were people before they were werewolves! They still have a soul. What if YOU were turned into a werewolf? Wouldn’y you still have a soul? I still think it is very racist.
okay you have a point right there. Sorry it’s just that people saying stuff about no “soul” and soul is confusing. But I say that they do have souls. Without we won’t survive and to live in this world.

From all of the reasearch I have done about werewolves and shapeshifters across the globe, everything seems to point to it being under their control.
there are no souls. there are the lycans. we are the pure. all other creatures have no souls. we have no souls deal with it. their are brains and their are brawns. what else do you humans need?

It is my belief that werewolves, in werewolf form, lose consciousness and lose the perception of having a soul. Humans seem to only have a “feeling” that they have a soul, in my opinion werewolves do not have this “feeling.” As you will read on ilw’s many readers disagree with me…even Buddy…

It all depends on one thing. Weather the werewolf can feel emotion or not. Sadness, anger, joy, these are but a few of countless emotions that are the core of a soul. If I was to become a werewolf now and you were dissmis any possibility that I had a soul I wouId become angered but that being an emotion would prove my exsistance with a soul and how I would act on those emotions would decide weather or not Im a monster.

This implies that your brain is not controlling your emotions but without a brain you would likely have no emotions. A werewolf (human in werewolf form) could have no soul and still have his emotions because the brain operates the werewolf’s emotions.

i am not agreeing or disagreeing but when say emotionless wat about emo kids they are emotionless (most of the time).
and yet a werewolf will not feel many feelings but if you found a pack of werewolfs like a family, and you killed 2 werewolves son/daughter. would they not feel sadness or dispaire. thays all im saying.

Well, number one, no, you will not know a werewolf from a human. Two, I do believe animals have souls. oh as for emotions werewolves have emotions. I do, and I am a werewolf. as ???? above had wrote, emotions are of the brain, not the soul, yet I do believe that werewolves have souls. Yet, the fate for us werewolves is not pretty, but I believe in God, and I pray for forgivness of this, this curse. i do what I can, and put up with what I get. Werewolves have souls, just as the rest of the animals do, and humans do. Not all werewolves are monsters. Some, if not all did not chose to become werewolves. think about that.
