Crescent Moon – worth looking for
The streets were empty as I walked home tonight, and I don’t think I even saw any birds. It was cold, and the wind was blowing pretty hard. Hard enough to make my eyes tear….and it was dark….the only thing keeping back complete darkness were a couple of street lamps giving little puddles of light across the street. Not even the moon was out.
Or at least, that’s what I thought.
No matter where I looked, I couldn’t catch sight of anything in the sky at all. And then, right before I got home, I saw the moon. It had been hiding behind a group of trees. And it was one of the prettiest moons I’ve seen in the city – second only to a full moon. It was strangely large tonight and looked like a brilliant thin crescent sliver in the sky. Experts would call it a waxing crescent moon. And even though the rest of the moon was dark, you could still see the moon’s dark circular outline against the black night sky.
It looked mysterious and beautiful and inspiring. And it reminded me that even when there isn’t a full moon shining in full glory above you, the moon is always there watching….even if part of it is in blackness, it’s still there if you look hard enough….

I already saw it when I was walking back home and I look up at the sky and there it is. the beautiful crescent moon.
