Harvard offers class on Vampires
So besides being able to take zombie classes in college, you can also take vampire classes in college! There are so many different options recently to choose from that it is kind of overwhelming….it seems tons of colleges and universities are jumping in the mix, wanting to give their views, slants, and opinions on vampire history, culture, and depiction. Even Harvard University – yes Harvard! offers a vampire class…and there’s even talks of a Master’s degree being offered by The University of Hertfordshire in Vampire literature. Yes, a Master’s degree focused on vampires. People are taking vampires much more seriously than they ever have before. Should werewolves be worried?
Here’s a sampling of some of the college classes out there:
Harvard University Extension School
Class: The Vampire In Literature and Film
Fall 2010
The class explores the origins of vampires and how they have been depicted in literature and films. The class involves readings of Bram Stoker (of the novel Dracula), Anne Rice (of the novel The Vampire Lestat), and Stephanie Meyer (of the Twilight series) to name a few.
Texas Christian University
Class: Bloodsuckers
Spring 2010
A film class that studies vampire films from the 1920s to the present, studying how vampires have changed over time.
Aurora University
Class: Got Blood Vampires in Literature, Film and Pop Culture
Summer 2009
Explores why people are so obsessed with vampires by discussing the themes found in famous vampire books.
The University of Hertfordshire
Master’s Degree in Vampire Literature
rumored will first be offered in 2010 – 2011
A whole degree centered around vampires!

I found a class at Kean University in NJ on psuedoscience that includes discussions of cryptozoology, werewolves and vampires. http://www.kean.edu/~bregal/HIST3854.htm
I think it’s rediculous. They shouldn’t try to teach what they have no true grasp on, unless the professor is one themself.
@tarbo: very cool!
@Werewolf967: it would be interesting to have a live action conversation with one of you guys.. either you or buddy..
wow… classess….. lol
Teach me
@Zorath: To be fair it’s not about actual vampires, it’s just vampire fiction.
