How to Improve your sense of smell
A werewolf’s sense of smell is one of his most important senses. As a werewolf this sense is massively enhanced, and the werewolf can use it for everything from sensing, to identifying, to locating. It is a gift without which the werewolf would be an entirely different creature.
Although humans will never achieve the same power of smell, there are techniques that humans can practice that will greatly enhance their sense of smell. While it may seem surprising that this sense can be improved, these techniques have in fact been tested and have proven to work. It is said that with practice, humans can greatly improve their sense of smell within a relatively short period of time.
This is what the experts suggest:
1. Smell everything. While this may seem self-evident, experts say that you actually have to practice smelling and be conscious of what it is that you’re smelling. Anything that you eat, drink, or pick up should be smelled….and you should pay attention to what it smells like. Start by picking strong smelling items. Smell them. Memorize the smell. Train yourself and practice identifying them before knowing what they are. You’ll start to find that you’ll be walking somewhere and will be able to pick out different smells that you’ve practiced learning….even if there is just a faint odor of it.
2. Smell your sweat.
I know, I agree, this sounds totally disgusting, but studies have shown that steroids found in sweat can actually increase receptors in the nose!
3. Clear Air.
This sounds like a pretty basic one, and it’s true. Experts say that urban pollution damages receptors in the nose.
4. Exercise.
Interestingly, studies show that your sense of smell is improved after you’ve been exercising!
5. Small sniffs
Have you ever seen an animal sniff something? Instead of taking one deep lungfull of air, they take small sniffs. Experts say if you’re trying to identify a smell, small sniffs are key.

I’ve been doing this for 4 years and it’s worth it.
