Zombies exist. Zombies are real. Science has now proven it!
There are many theories on how zombies are made – and much controversy on if they are in fact real. For those who doubt in the existence of zombies – get ready for this one. There is a type of fungus that actually makes zombies! What do I mean when I say it makes zombies? I mean that the fungus actually takes over both the mind and body of the infected. The fungus CONTROLS whatever it infects. There are two weird (and true) things about this- 1.) that a FUNGUS (a PLANT!!) is actually turning living things into zombies and “controlling” them… the other is actually very interesting and is that – 2.) the fungus so far it has only been found to infect ants.
The zombie-turning fungus is called Ophiocordyceps unilateralis (for those of you who don’t believe in it, do a quick google search and you’ll find all sorts of scientific articles on it). Apparently the fungus attaches to the ants, grows inside of it, and makes the ants do and act in certain ways – it basically controls the ants behavior so that it goes to a certain part of a plant and bites it in places where the fungus can grow. Apparently, the whole time the ant is under complete control of the fungus. Often, when the fungus is done with the ant, it kills it.
So, the interesting thing here is, if you still don’t believe in zombies, think about this question… if a fungus can turn an ant into a zombie, wouldn’t you think that there is something (fungus, or otherwise) that can turn a person into a zombie?

Word is out that the movie American Werewolf in London is definitely going to be remade. No ifs, ands, or buts – an AWIL remake is on the way! This is good and bad. Good because of course, any movie that is centered around werewolves – especially one as good as American Werewolf in London – deserves to be seen by new audiences. I know alot of times, I hate seeing movies that are old just because they seem so…well,…old! So, it will be nice to see a modern retelling. Also, I think this movie is a better “werewolf movie” than the other recent werewolf movie remake – the Wolf Man. Sure, American Werewolf in London only shows one blood-lusty version of the werewolf, but it does have it’s good points…it shows the pain of the werewolf transformation like no other movie before or since has done so vividly, and because of this, offers a tiny bit of insight into the difficulties werewolves face.

American werewolf in london
But, the bad part is that since it is a classic, so are they going to ruin it by redoing it? So many movies they’ve redone have bad cgi, and bad acting and you just end up wishing they had left it alone. They redo it because they know it comes with a fan base – lovers of the original, lovers of werewolves, and lovers of horror movies. Why bother making it good when werewolf fans especially will be lined up to see it anyway? Hopefully, this will not be the fate of AWIL. I think that werewolves deserve another movie in theaters – one as good as AWIL…and hopefully the director and producer are werewolf fans too and don’t screw it up for us.
(P.S. – The writer they’ve signed on for the American Werewolf in London remake is Fernley Phillips – writer of the movie The Number 23).

The werewolves that are being depicted in modern media is what many would call “new werewolves“. They are not the werewolves of yesterday with hair all over their bodies and an uncontrollable urge to attack people. The new werewolves are werewolves that resemble humans. This is what the media depicts, and alot of this has to do with what people are interested in in pop-culture today. But, if you leave media behind, a new question poses itself - are there really “new werewolves”? In other words, have werewolves been evolving the way that humans have evolved?
The study of human evolution is supported and studied primarily by way of fossils, but with werewolves, there are no fossils to analyze, so the question of evolution is left to speculation. There are some people that do speculate that werewolves have evolved over time. Those that believe this, cite a few things as prime examples. One big thing that these people tend to believe in the way of werewolf evolution is the change in size. They believe that werewolves have gotten bigger over time, much the same as humans have gotten bigger over time. This theory is supported by sightings. When analyzed, you’ll find that current eyewitness reports of werewolves depict larger sized werewolves than older reports which typically were merely wolf-size. And there are other things related to physical appearance that humans say have come with evolution- no tails, less-radical fangs, the inability to completely shift into wolf form…all of these things humans claim as part of “new werewolves”. But is this human perception and exaggeration? Do humans really know as much about werewolves as they think? Or is this all true and in fact evolution? That is the question that is still being debated.
Another thing that some say that supports werewolf evolution, is that alot of werewolf folklore references the fact that werewolves do not have any control over their transformations. Many modern-day werewolves however, have found transformation control as something that can be learned over time. There are those that claim that this control came as part of the evolutionary process. There are others however on the other side of the fence that say how can control be part of evolution? It is not evolution, but rather the better understanding that people now have of werewolves that makes them think that control of transformations is part of the so-called “new werewolves” and not the ancient ones.

Crazy, odd, and extreme behavior during nights of the full moon is something that has been observed for a long time. For centuries humans have had awareness of the moon phases and the cycle of which it works around, and it was centuries ago that the word Lunatic was created!
Did you know that the word Lunatic is actually derived from the Greek prefix or root Luna-. Luna- actually refers literally to the moon, some people use the word Lunacy to refer to a “mental illness”… the -cy suffix of the word Luna- actually refers to the state of being. And so we have the definition of the word Lunatic:
Lunatic: ”a mentallly ill person”
an extremely foolish or eccentric person
Is it a coincidence that the word Lunacy is derived from the moon? And that there is a legend that originated himself by transforming under the moonlight, and that these very same people who “make these claims” of transforming are said to be crazy or “lunatics” by the supposed “normal humans.”
Well, Lunar behavior to many people is something of concern, and even as recently as the 1980′s we can directly find video evidence of people observing weird and sometimes dangerous human activity during full lunar nights. The full moon human activity that was so prominent that a news story was reported about the human activity and how it relates to the moon.
