Total number of werewolves that exist

It has always been difficult to get an exact idea of the total number of werewolves that exist. Werewolves do not want to be identified for a variety of (very legitimate) reasons.  What is known however is that the actual number of werewolves in the world is very small in relation to the entire human population for reasons explained here.

But for those who persist with the question, and want to know how many werewolves there are in the world, the exact number has always been elusive, and they have been forced to make their own estimates about the population size – and usually that size estimate is zero!

We have however been counting the world population of werewolves, and…as of today, January 18, 2015 the total number of werewolves that exist in the world stands at:

1,708 werewolves

This total number is so small in compared to the total number of humans on the planet, that it registers as less than .002 percent of the total world population (which stands at 7 billion).  When faced with these kinds of numbers, it is therefore can become easier to understand why humans do not believe in werewolves – there are so few werewolves in comparison to humans, that they are hidden deep within the population.

If you’re interested in the breakdown of where these werewolves are located, here it is:

  • 48 are from Oceania
  • 1291 are from North America
  • 42 are from Latin America and the Caribbean
  • 257 are from Europe
  • 50 are from Asia
  • 20 are from Africa

Please also be aware that this number count of werewolves is not error proof.  Because it is so hard to get a count of the number of werewolves, we are relying on werewolves to self-identify.  This of course mean two things:

  1. There are humans that will claim to be werewolves that are not in fact werewolves.
  2. Although there are werewolves online, not all may have found this census counter, and if they have, not all may have participated in the count.

However despite these areas that could create some errors in the count, it is the most accurate count for the total number of werewolves that exists today.  This number should become even more accurate with time as more werewolves find it, and identify themselves.

For an up-to-date total of the number of werewolves in the world, you can find the world population counter here If you are a werewolf and want to identify yourself as such, that is also the place to do it.
