This is a list of some of the more popular best vampire books, including best sellers, and new books out there:

Twilight – The Twilight series is one of the most popular series of vampire books – and – and added bonus is that it also includes werewolves! Written by Stephanie Meyer, the series of books in the vampire saga includes the first book – Twilight, the second, New Moon, the third, Eclipse, and the last book in the series Breaking Dawn. The books focus on a love triangle between Bella Swan (a human), Edward Cullen (a vampire), and Jacob Black (a werewolf). They have been so popular that they have been turned into a movie, with the next movie – Eclipse – due out later this summer.

Sookie Stackhouse – Another extremely popular series of vampire books is the Sookie Stackhouse series of books which are about a barmaid telepath from Louisiana.  Because of her special abilities, supernatural creatures – especially vampires – often tangle with her life.  The books, written by Charlaine Harris include a number of novels including Dead Until Dark, Living Dead in Dallas, Club Dead, Dead to the World, and Definitely Dead to name a few.  The television show True Blood is based on the vampire books series.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter – One of the newest vampire books out is by Seth Grahame-Smith, and is about Abraham Lincoln – as if he were a vampire hunter.

The Vampire Diaries – by L.J. Smith are vampire books about Elena Gilbert who falls in love with two vampire brothers – Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore.  The CW television series the Vampire Diaries is based on the books.

Lover Mine:  A Novel In The Black Dagger Brotherhood – On the New York Bestseller list, this is one of the more steamy vampire books on this list.  Written by J.R. Ward, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series are adult paranormal romance books which tell the stories of six vampire brothers who live together.  The books will take you into a whole world of vampires – but be aware these books are heavy on adult romance.

Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter – Another vampire hunter!  This incredibly popular series of vampire books stars Anita Blake who lives in a world where vampires and shapeshifters are real.  The books are mainly fantasy books with Anita as the protaganist solving mysteries.  Written by Laurell K Hamilton, here are over a dozen books in the series, including Flirt, Bullet, Guilty Pleasures, Killing Dance, and Skin Trade to name a few.

  8. Another brand new vampire book is “This.” It just came out this summer and is getting great reviews so far. It’s YA and has strong female characters and an AWESOME plot! A worthwhile read – even to you cynics who despise vampire books 🙂
