There aren’t too many vampire movies being promoted for release in 2014…but those that are going to be released look like they’re going to be good! A couple of them have been pending their releases for a few years, and it looks like will finally see their day on the big screen this year.  Here’s the short list of the vampire movies to look forward to this year:

Dracula Untold
A film based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula and stars actor Luke Evans as Dracula, telling the story of how he becomes a vampire (teh first of his kind) in order to save his wife and daughter. The film’s release has been postponed several times, but is currently scheduled for October 2014.
Release Date: October 17, 2014


Vampire Academy
“They suck at school!” This vampire movie tells the story of Dhampir (half-vampire) Rose Hathaway who will be a bodyguard for a type of mortal vampire called a Moroi against the evil immortal vampires, the Strigoi. Rumors were that this movie was to release in 2013…it didn’t happen, but we now have a 2014 release date!
Release Date: February 14, 2014

This Russian Horror movie is about a cartographer in teh 18th century who starts a journey to map Transylvania…little does he know what horrors await him in the infamous country.
The movie has been delayed over and over again (releases were scheduled for 2009, 2010, and 2013), however rumors are that it will be released this year….January of 2014 in fact. Let’s see if if actually happens!
Release Date: January 2014 (possibly)

Only Lovers Left Alive
This movie had a limited release in 2013, but will be rleased in the USA in 2014. The movie is about a vampire rockstar who becomes depressed with society. His vampire wife reunites with him, but before things can become good, his wife’s sister shows up and causes havoc.
