werewolf apocalypse
What is a real werewolf apocalypse?
A werewolf apocalypse is when all werewolves join together, rise, and take overcivilization. In this scenario, humans would become extinct – or very nearly so.
Generally, the apocalyptic event is triggered by a number of actions. First, werewolves are somehow “outed” from seclusion, and are in the public eye. Humans start to believe in them, and, because they do not understand them, become afraid of them. With humans afraid of werewolves, the humans start to ban together to exterminate all werewolves – they essentially start a war against shapeshifters. Regardless of whether the werewolf is evil or good, loves humans or hates them, the humans try to destroy them all. To humans the werewolf is something that is beyond their understanding, so they try to destroy all that they can find. As this happens, werewolves – normally a solitary – or small pack creature – are forced to join together with all of their own kind. In joining together in defense of themselves, they strive to obliterate humans, and are quite successful in doing so.
The werewolf apocalypse is an unlikely scenario which would require a number of far-fetched events including 1.) humans actually believing in werewolves (and humans hardly ever believe in things they cannot understand) and 2.) werewolves displaying themselves in such a way that humans would be forced to believe in them (most werewolves tend to stay under the radar anyway).
Yes, there’s also a game called Werewolf: The Apocalypse…
There is actually a game called Werewolf: The Apocalypse which is a similar idea. It is a table-top role-playing game (RPG) about a group called the Garou (werewolves) who fight against evil forces that want to bring about the apocalypse. The game originated in the early 90s and was published by White Wolf. It has since been updated by its successor called Werewolf: The Forsaken.
