Technically speaking, a werewolf is a monster according to the online dictionary which says:
- a werewolf is “a human being who has changed into a wolf, or is capable of assuming the form of a wolf, while retaining human intelligence.”
- a monster is (well actually there are several definitions, but here is one:) “any animal or human grotesquely deviating from the normal shape, behavior, or character” OR “any creature so ugly or monstrous as to frighten people”
Since a werewolf does deviate from the normal shape and behavior of HUMANS, and does frighten people, then yes, by human definition a werewolf is a monster. However I personally believe that a werewolf should be classified as a species of animal. So if classified as an animal, then a werewolf is NOT a monster!
Here is the online definition of an animal:
- an animal is any such living thing other than a human being.
So, a werewolf is an animal. Animals do have souls and are neither good nor evil. Therefore a werewolf has a soul and is neither good nor evil.

ahem. werewolf967. why are you so against werewolves? if there happened to be a werewolf reading this–(which they probably wouldn’t,(unless maybe they are new & confused about what’s happenig to them)) they would be very unhappy at the way you insult them. They have lives, just like you. Do you know any werewolves personally? if not, then you CANNOT be so negative towards them, because you don’t know anything. How would you feel if someone started a blog & said, “werewolf967 is an ugly monster and nobody should like him.” ? And a werewolf should be an animal? well, that’s a little insulting… not that all werewolves want to be human… humans are very judgmental… i’m sure alot of werewolves dislike humans… alot.

By my reckoning I was never told by god what was Normal. I do assume that the normal mentioned in the article is the human normal and not a gathered consensus on the overall normal which would discredit the normal that would define the werewolf as a being of its believed categorization under the term of monster. So I then must ask if it’s indeed a monster then what would that make humans who have desecrated the earth and seem to skip happily to there own extinction.
technecally a werewolf is half human and half animal but yes you are corect we should be classified as a new animal species not as monsters that will get anyone right on sight
actually i take that back and i agree with you Selene because i have been a werewolf for a couple of years but this is the first time i have been to this website because no one was there to teach me the fundamentals about being a werewolf so i had to learn by watching and listening. but unlike the normal newborn i did not go crazy when i first phased because i had known werewolves existed and havew seen them phase while i was hiding behind a bush or tree
I believe a werewolf is a animal and a monster. Because they can distingush between whats right or wrong good or evil. Even though everybodys version of good and evil differs there still is good and evil. A werewolf is much like good and evil they are majestic like animals but they do have monstrous sides. He isnt wrong but he is not right either. To make things simple for those whom i might have just confused. Humans have good days and bad days. On good days you do good deeds or smile alot ect. But on bad days you are mean or do bad stuff hurt peoples feelings ect. Some people believe one sided on many things while others choose the other side but what i have learned in life is you cant have good things without the bad so a werewolf (in my eyes) is exactly like ying and yang
Well yes. Werewolves and other therians are just animals. NOT monsters. Hollyhood puts many scarey ideas into the human brain. I mean I’m pretty nice, have loads of friends, and have learned to deal with my wolf side. The werewolf is a beautiful creature. You have to remember…humans are animals too

You probably don’t know any other werewolves. And don’t understand that were not full wolves and have a human side. Were just as human as you are.
