Werewolves and Christmas

Werewolves are usually most associated with Halloween, however there are some cultures that believe that werewolves are more likely to show up around holidays – not just Halloween, but also specifically Christmas since it is one of the biggest holidays of the year.  So which cultures believe that werewolves are likely to show up around Christmas?  Romania and Moldova are two cultures that believe in werewolves around the holidays, specifically Christmas.  They also hold the belief that a child conceived on the eve of the holiday could become a werewolf.

In Romania, werewolves are called vârcolac, priculici.
