Who Studies Werewolf Sightings?
Even if you do not believe in werewolves, there is no denying the fact that every year there actually are werewolf sightings and reports. Some of them are obvious hoaxes, but there are always some that cannot be disproved as hoaxes. Every year there are some werewolf sightings that appear real, and are submitted to scientists for deeper investigation. Some of these werewolf sightings are given to cryptozoologists for further research. A cryptozoologist is someone that studies and searches for animals – in particular legendary animals – that most scientists do not believe exist – like bigfoot (aka sasquatch), werewolves, and the loch ness monster. They try to determine if these animals do in fact exist or not. Cryptozoology is considered a pseudoscience, which refers to theories that appear scientific, but do not adhere to the scientific method, and are not commonly regarded as scientific by most scientists. There are actually a few small colleges that do offer classes in cryptozoology.
