Zombie College Courses

College courses are not all boring – a number of colleges are actually offering zombie classes!!  Looks like zombies aren’t just staying in the movies anymore! 🙂  Some of the classes I’ve discusses previously are still being offered, but there are also new ones that have emerged.  These are actual, real, college classes that are being offered by respected colleges and universities around the country!

Casper College, Casper, Wyoming –  Jan 28, 2013 – March 11, 2013:  The continuing education department will offer a class called “Zombies.  The class will have experts presenting different topics each week related to what might happen during a disaster such as a zombie apocalypse.  The class will be held Monday evenings from 7 – 9pm and is taught by Lance Jones.

Michigan State University, Lansing, Michigan – This past summer (summer session 2012) offered a course called “Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse – Catastrphes and Human Behavior“.  The class was held by the School of Social Work and was a seven week course covering different catastrophic events that have (and could) happen – such as a zombie apocalypse.  Will there be another zombie course for summer 2013?!

Texas Tech, Lubbock, Texas – Students can take a class called “Zombie Culture: The Zombie in History, Film, Literature, Sequential Art and the Popular Imagination“.  The course examines the zombie in literature, art, games, and film.

Cool! I wish I lived in one of those states so I can take the course. Even though I’m not in college yet, I’m still in high school.
