Zombie Obesession is hurting America?!

This has to be one of the craziest articles I have seen.

Fox News’ Manny Alvarez recently wrote an article where he claimed that zombies are part of the problem with America. His take? It’s the violence that zombies represent. He claims zombies are everywhere – video games, movies, TV, books – everywhere…and the zombie pervasive violence is a problem. He also claims that zombies are a distraction from the more important things going on in society.  And he claims that zombies don’t soothe and ease your mind the way real entertainment should.

His only valid point?  Zombies are indeed everywhere.  But to blame society’s ills on the undead is just – well – unbelievable! You can no more blame the problems of society on zombies than you could blame them on vampires or werewolves…..or perhaps this is exactly what Alvarez does intend to do?  After all, why hold individuals accountable for their own actions?  Let’s blame it on the external influence of everything or anything besides that individual’s own actions.

The truth is that people who are obsessed with zombies (or werewolves, or vampires for that matter) are people with open, creative minds.  They are people that are doing more than just going “by the book” with what schools, or the government, or writers such as Alvarez want them to believe and think about. Alvarez claims that zombies don’t soothe the mind like entertainment should.  Well, no they don’t.  They fire up the mind, and they feed the creative juices and creative energy of the individual.  Perhaps this is what scares Alvarez.  He cannot control what this group of people thinks about or what they believe in.

  1. I hate to break it to Dr. Alvarez, but I was violent well before either zombies or werewolves. Ummm, yeah, maybe I shouldn’t have said that. Oh well. I don’t know who Dr. Alvarez is getting his undead impressions from, but it’s no one I’ve even spoken to in passing.

Really? Mr. Alvarez? You know, Violence is part of the human nature. We can’t just stop those violence since it is already planted on people’s instinct. Humans also need those in order to survive. Mr. Alvarez is an idiot.
