Guinness World Records held by Werewolves, Vampires, and Zombies

GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDSMost people howling (like a wolf or werewolf!)
According to the Guinness World Records website, the howling record was set in 2013 at St Cloud University in Minnesota, USA when 296 people got together and howled for a full minute! It has subsequently been reported elsewhere on the internet that the record from St Cloud was broken in 2015 when 464 people gathered near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England and howled while dressed as humans, werewolves, and wolves! (It should be noted that the English record is not yet recorded on the Guinness World Records website.)

Largest Wolf Pack
This world record according to the Guinness World Records website belongs to a single pack of 400 wolves!! (By comparison, and to illustrate how large this actually is, a normal wolf pack in this area is around 10 – 15 wolves)!! The record-breaking “super wolf pack” took over the town of Verkhoyansk in Russia, attacking and killing local livestock and horses. It is believed that the pack took shape due to extreme cold conditions which killed off smaller pack’s usual foodsource, forcing the wolves to form a massive pack and hunt together.

Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Vampires
In September of 2011 1,039 people dressed as vampires in Doswell, Virginia, USA, making that gathering the largest collection of people dressed in one place as bloodsuckers!

Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Zombies
It seems like more people are willing to dress up as zombies than as vampires! In October of 2014, according to Guinness, a record setting 15,458 people dressed up as zombies for a pub crawl in Minneapolis, Minnesota! This is bigger than some small towns!!

Highest Grossing Werwolf & Vampire Film
According to box office reports, this title goes to Twilight Saga: Eclipse which was released in 2010 and has earned over $300,000,000 at the box office!  Because it has both vampires and werewolves, the film counts as a record holder in both categories!

Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Zombie
This is one of the weirder Guinness titles – in 2013 Sean McShane of Ireland dressed up as a zombie and set a record for fastest marathon dressed as a zombie at 3 hours, 18 minutes, and 38 seconds!

First Mathematical Model for Surviving a Zombie Attack
Although it’s been talked about seemingly forever, it was not until 2009 when the first mathematical model was developed in Canada by graduate students and mathematicians showing that if an actual real zombie infections starts, a city of 500,000 people would be overrun by zombies (meaning zombies will outnumber humans) in 3 days.

I guess no furries have noticed there was a howling record, and it’s is only 464 people. A furry convention could easily beat that. I imagine at some point this record will be broken several times over a couple of years if it becomes a thing to do at a convention.
