A brief introduction of Vampires

Perhaps one of the most famous legends of them all, The Vampire.

The Vampire has played a part of peoples lives since as early as the first century. Originating in the European culture of the Slavic; creating the doorway for the mythology to spread to the greeks and eventually throughout Europe.

Interestingly enough, Mexico,  without any influence from the Europeans and before any first know contact by the Spanish in the 1500’s were known to have their own version of the Vampire. In Mayan the Vampire was called Camazotz.

“In Mayan lore, the Camazotz is a monstrous mix of a human male body with a head of a bat that may have developed its origins from the vampire bats of South America. The Camazotz personifies death and sacrifice, and people greatly fear the caves that are thought to be his lair.” -Karg.

Perhaps this Mayan encounters with the Vampire bats lead to tales, and the tales lead to legends. And traveling with the legends of the Mayan encounters with the Vampire bats lead to the modern association of the Bat and the Vampire.

It was not until the 1800’s that writers took the legend and began to create and elaborate on the elusive Vampire. Then, in the 1900’s the world took the words of many tales and lores and created ever lasting images in the minds of everyday people by putting them on the big screen. Vampire movies were born.

@Jackyln: Since, as expected, my last comment was moderated (a word involving taking another’s life) so i’ll sum it up. You cannot get away with *ahem* “Taking people out” (avoiding moderation) on that large of a scale. And if you could, people would probably be a bit more wary than they should be about stating identity on the internet, and supposed “protection” would not be necessary. For example, Lee Ann is a vampire (or something, I don’t think its been brought up in awhile) and is very logical. So not only has she stated what she is, but it’s very hard to argue. So why is she not gone?

ok so I’ve been to like a million different websites and asked on so many forums, but a lot of people have shut me down. So im trying my shot here.
Long story short, I got in a car accident and I guess it was bad enough I wasn’t supposed to survive it. But – I still did. When I woke up I felt waaay different. I was extra tired, I avoided people, and the feeling of the sun hurt bad. And don’t get me wrong, I know that sound like a “personal problem” or whatever but I also have these creepy looking bite marks on my neck. Yeah. That hollywood kind of stuff. And that’s not it – I’m able to lift things I never would have before. I can run miles without breaking a sweat, and I constantly crave… well… blood. After the accident I kept feeling more and more tired no matter how much sleep I got or how many monsters I downed. Then, I know this sounds bad. I hate it too, but I was at the hospital, you know, car accident sleep deprived and all, and I kind of maybe took one of those blood bags they had. And… it was actually good. It was so good, in fact, that after that I got my energy back. I felt wayy better! Ive been craving it since, but I won’t dare do that again, nor will I actually… bite people. No matter how much I want to
I highly suspect vampirism. Which I know is kind of immature and weird and makes no sense, but what else could be happening! Did a vampire save me from the accident? Did I somehow become one when it saved me?? Help!!!
