Werewolves Temperament

Because of the upcoming release of New Moon, there are alot of rumors flying around that werewolves have short tempers and are very volatile. This is part of the mythology of werewolves temperament that Stephanie Meyer has built into her werewolves in the book. The truth however is that not all werewolves are like this. The temperament of the werewolf is very much based on the temperament of the human that becomes the werewolf. If the human has a short temper and is volatile, so too is the werewolf. But a calm-natured, kind human is unlikely to change personalities once transformed. The only qualifier I want to add to that is that during initial transformations, many have found the process painful and confusing…sometimes first-time werewolves will be affected by this pain and confusion and may act out-of-the-ordinary when transformed. With time however, as they learn to control their transformations, their werewolf natures become more like their human natures.

Nice. Yet, most of the werewolves I know are short tempered. The thing I don’t get it the fact that they make Vampires seem so calm. Heres your wake up call Stephenie Meyer we’re not all like that!

o um Charisse, sorry to burst your bubble but, we are real.

and i hope this thing is correct, i dont want to be a monster.

  9. Talfreo says:

You won’t be. This is as accurate as I would get. It’s already explained before. Just because we’re werewolves, doesn’t mean our personalities or tempers change.

  16. :-/ Really? says:

Werewolves are not real. nor are vampire, witches, warlocks, fairies or any other supernatural being you believe is real. They are a work of fiction that is enjoyed by many people around the world. To believe you are in fact one of these FICTIONAL beings suggests you have issues. :-/

  17. Lycanhope says:

@:-/ Really?: Ah, the words of someone ignorant about basic psychology and parascience, as well as not understanding scientific thought. Love you people. So ignorant and blissfully unaware.

  18. :-/ Really? says:

Oooooook then. Not normal. If werewolves were real – which they are not – it is highly unlikely that they would tell they’re secrets to the www. Some serious issues here and I think you could all do with some major counselling and electric shock therapy to get the ridiculous notion that you are a fictional being out of your tiny little minds. Seriously, children pretend they are a magical being but at the end of the day even they can comprehend that they are in fact….. human. Deal with it and get a life.

  19. :-/ Really? says:

@Charisse: thank you, another person with some sanity.

  20. Lee Ann says:

@:-/ Really?: Actually electric shock therapy has proven to either severely injure patients or cause them to become even more insane.. It’s kind of why it’s been outlawed in practice.

  21. Lycanhope says:

    @Lee Ann: Nice burn.

@Really?:-/: Yet again, showing your ignorance of psychology and scientific reasoning. Also making assumptions, not really too smart are ya.

First of all, let me state that there are no secrets per se, so why would there be any issue talking on the Internet? The only reason some things aren’t mentioned in the general public is to reduce what roleplayers think they know so that people who legitimately need help can be identified. That’s it.

Secondly, if you had any knowledge of “werewolves” at all, you’d know it was caused by species dysphoria (at least that’s the scientific label, some people like to be more spiritual about it, i.e Therians) which has similar effects as gender dysphoria, and is just as potent. So check your facts.

Thirdly, saying something is impossible shows your ignorance. Science is always wrong, this is a fact. It never presumes to be right, it just tries to understand the world around it with the information it has at hand. When new information is presented all we know is changed. So approaching something with the attitude of “you’re wrong, that can’t happen” is the same mentality as back in the days of Galileo, and I’d like to think we’d progressed as a society since then.

Tl;dr, next time you want to sound smart on the Internet, actually be smart, and pick your battles much more carefully.
